We have engaged a number of top designers we have worked with over the years to share their perspectives and experiences in building their successful careers, in order to inspire and influence students. participant in the course. Contributors include structural designer Dror Benshetrit; lighting designer Lee Broom; Tucker Viemeister, inventor of the Oxo Good Grips; Alex Rasmussen, the revered industrial designer; and Eleanor Cavalli, artistic director of Italian furniture company Visionnaire.
Alongside these internationally renowned designers, we have our own Wallpaper * editors, including Sarah Douglas, editor-in-chief; editor-in-chief TF Chan; and design editor Rosa Bertoli – and senior design critics participating in the course, as well as faculty members from the Parsons School of Design.
Covering everything from prototyping to manufacturing and marketing, the course was organized using the Yellowbrick educational platform and provides a great introduction to the world of product design and the creative process behind it. Expert instructors draw on their personal experience to provide insight into different career paths.
In order to share the Product Design Essentials course with as many people as possible, it has been designed as a fully distance-based online course, available worldwide and including full on-demand content and learning resources. Those who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from the Parsons School of Design, the top ranked school of art and design in the United States.
