About the Customer:

The client was a global automotive OEM looking to identify engineering validation best practices and tools by studying its implementation in other companies with similar product development complexity in order to improve their own validation approach and audit and improve product development.

Challenge:

PreScouter’s goal in this research support service license was to analyze how companies in the automotive and other industries were tackling the engineering validation challenge and extract key insights to the customer.

Approach:

PreScouter reviewed leading companies in the A&D, high-tech, automotive, and equipment manufacturing industries to understand their approaches to engineering validation and verification and identify best practices, covering the following areas:

  • Virtualization for validation
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • The AGILE validation process
  • Organizational structures for validation and verification
  • Digital twins and artificial intelligence

Additionally, the PreScouter team engaged 4 subject matter experts and interviewed 4 others to provide in-depth insights and also studied academic literature to identify key trends and centers of excellence in the areas of interest for the customer.

Result:

PreScouter shared the insights and recommendations from their survey with the client company’s executives and senior management, and they were used to benchmark the company’s efforts against other organizations.
