Geek + RoboShuttle wins European product design award

  • Winner of the industrial robot category for combining a flexible, functional and aesthetic robot design to create automated solutions that have a real impact on the world of warehousing.

DÜSSELDORF, Germany, October 5, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Geek +, a global leader in AMR, is proud to announce that it has won the European Product Design Award in the industrial robot category with RoboShuttle, the double bin picking robot depth for high density storage. The award recognizes the combination of flexibility and functionality that permeates the entire design, from robot to solution, and the ability to create, innovate and produce solutions that resolve logistical bottlenecks to help flexible businesses to grow and be competitive.

Jackson zhang, President of Geek + Europe, says: “We are very proud to receive this award and see it as recognition of the ability of our engineers and designers to develop products that solve real logistical bottlenecks by targeting the physical problem of space as well as a plus Today, RoboShuttle has been deployed in more than 10 countries. The solution is generating exponential interest, optimizing space, ensuring employee safety and bringing precision and flexibility to warehouse operations.

The Double Deep RoboShuttle can operate 1m narrow aisles, span 5m high shelves and use its extended telescopic arms to 1.5 m reach to access bins of varying depths in one place. Equipped with high precision sensors, the robot will adjust the depth of the telescopic arms to pick up the bins at different depths accurately and safely. Due to the flexible and slim design of the chassis, the RoboShuttle can operate in varying soil conditions and access bins stored as low as 0.215 meters. It can also transport up to 5 bins at one time to and from an order picking station for more efficient and faster order fulfillment. RoboShuttle can be adjusted to accommodate different heights of shelves. The robot can also operate in dark warehouse environments, using security lights and self-charging capabilities, enabling safe, efficient and energy efficient 24/7 logistics operations.

Zihan Yu, Industrial Designer at Geek +, says: “As logistics processes become more and more complex, we need to move away from the one-size-fits-all mindset and consider optimization in terms of personalization. At Geek +, we offer tailor-made solutions using both hardware and software. While it is our intelligent software platform that analyzes the customer’s order history and adjusts operations accordingly, it is the ability to produce versatile robots that allows us to optimize the physical reality of each customer’s warehouse. .

RoboShuttle is a high density solution that creates a safer working environment for warehouse workers, improves storage capacity 2-3 times, and streamlines logistics processes with intelligent applications integrating real-time demands such as logical management of tasks and management of routes and maintenance.
