edX and the University of Maryland Launch New Online Masters in Product Management

“The data was clear: with a lack of graduate degree offerings, many current and former UMD students are taking a learning approach to a career in product management. They are majoring in marketing , business or engineering, and start their careers from there,” mentioned James V. GreenDirector of the MPS in Product Management at the University of Maryland. “This, coupled with the surprisingly high interest we’ve seen from learners in our Professional Certificate program on edX, has made it clear that we can and should serve many adult and corporate learners who demand skills and training in this important area of activity.”

UMD’s Online MPS in Product Management will combine a fully online learning experience with award-winning faculty and connections to the UMD community. Flexibly designed for working professionals, with no face-to-face requirement, the program offers high-quality, interactive collaboration with classmates around the world.

“I am delighted to extend our partnership with the University of Maryland with this degree program, informed by the success of their Product Management Professional Certificate program on edX,” said Anant Agarwal, founder of edX and director of open education for 2U. “Not only has the development of the degree program been truly market-driven, it is also priced to make the in-demand product management career path more accessible to students everywhere.”

The A. James Clark School of Engineering will offer the MPS in Product Management starting at August 2022. The program is now accepting applications, with a deadline of July 29, 2022.
