DTNA appoints Aufdemberg Director of Product Strategy and Market Development

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) announced Thursday that Mary Aufdemberg, currently Managing Director and President of Daimler Trucks Remarketing (DTR) has been appointed General Manager of Product Strategy and Market Development.

“Mary has been one of the driving forces behind the unprecedented growth of SelecTrucks and the entire Daimler Trucks Remarketing business portfolio,” said David Carson, senior vice president, sales and marketing, DTNA.

Aufdemberg started his career at Daimler in 2004, working in financial services for a subsidiary, before officially joining DTNA in 2008 as head of the training and marketing center at Thomas Built Buses.

In 2012, she accepted an executive leadership role as Director of Product Marketing for Freightliner, where she was instrumental in the launch of the new Cascadia and the launch of DTNA’s first self-driving concept truck.

She joined DTR in 2017 as Director of Acquisitions and Operations and was promoted to Managing Director and President in 2019. Under the leadership of Aufdemberg, the DTR team embarked on a growth strategy aggressive for the SelecTrucks brand, which added 11 locations during his tenure.

Aufdemberg is a supporter of the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion at DTNA and in the industry. She is the executive sponsor of EQUAL, the DTNA employee business resource group for LGBTQIA, and sits on the DTNA Diversity and Inclusion Council.

Aufdemberg previously served on the Board of Directors of Women in Trucking for six years (2013-2019) and served as President for five of those years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from University of Illinois and an MBA in International Marketing and Finance from DePaul University.

Aufdemberg succeeds Kary Schaefer who progresses to a new position of Chief Engineer, Cabin Systems / Whole Vehicle Engineering.
