black rock on Thursday announced internal promotions within its insurance unit and product management areas.
Lyenda Simpson Delpmanaging director, has been promoted to head the Americas Company Financial Institutions Group, BlackRock’s insurance unit, according to an internal memo obtained by Pensions and investments.
she replaced Daniel Dunay, Managing Director, who will assume the role of Corporate Product Leader within BlackRock’s Global Product Group. Mr. Dunay replaces Brendan Kynechief executive, who was the interim head of the group and was appointed to the new position of global head of product engineering, the company memo said.
Ms. Delp was responsible for relationship management for FIG Americas. She will be replaced by two General Managers from the FIG team, David Holdreith and Andrew Stacka BlackRock spokeswoman said in an email.
Mrs. Delp and MM. Dunay and Kyne will assume their new roles on May 16, the spokeswoman said.
Also, Mark Erickson was appointed Managing Director to fill the newly created role of Global Head of Business Strategy for the company’s Financial Institutions Group. He will join the cabinet on May 9.
Mr. Erickson was managing director and chief operating officer for investments at insurer Global Atlantic Financial Group. A spokesperson for Global Atlantic did not respond to a request for information on Mr. Erickson’s successor.
FIG managed $533 billion for its insurance clients as of December 31; BlackRock had $9.6 trillion in assets under management as of March 31.
