SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Alluxa Inc., developer and manufacturer of optical coatings, filters and thin film deposition technologies, named Amber Czajkowski director of product management. In this role, Czajkowski will be responsible for applications and product engineering. Czajkowski has 15 years of experience in the optical community, holding both manufacturing and commercial roles.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Velodyne Lidar has joined its Board of Directors with the appointment of Ernest Maddock to the role of class three director. Maddock served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Micron Technology from 2015 to 2018, and he chaired the audit committee of two public companies. He currently serves on the board of Ultra Clean Holdings Inc., a leading developer and supplier of critical subsystems, components and parts for the semiconductor industry. Maddock will serve as a member of the Audit Committee of Velodyne’s Board of Directors.

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – TECH B2B Marketing, a marketing, public relations and business consulting firm serving the automation, manufacturing and related technical industries, has appointed John Lewis as an account manager. Lewis recently served as editor of Laser focus world magazine. He previously held a marketing position at Cognex and served as editor of Design of vision systems magazine.

NEWPORT, England — Compound Semiconductors Applications Catapult (CSA Catapult) named Raj Gawera to its board of directors as a non-executive director. The wireless communication technology industry veteran is responsible for several European development centers supplying technology to Samsung’s semiconductor division. CSA Catapult was created to help the UK become a global leader in compound semiconductors by working with large companies and start-ups to develop and commercialize new applications. CSA Catapult is a member of the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) and the Photonics Leadership Group (UK).

GRENOBLE, France — The board of directors of semiconductor materials designer and manufacturer Soitec will appoint Pierre Barnabe CEO. Barnabé will succeed Paul Boudre after the company’s annual meeting of shareholders in July. Barnabé currently holds the position of senior executive vice president in charge of big data and cybersecurity at the IT company Atos.
